3DS Emulator DeSmu3DME 0.9.3

DSemu has just released a beta version of the new 3DS emulator. The latest version, 0.9.3, now features the option of choosing colored skins to reflect all the official 3DS handheld systems released by Nintendo, including some special edition ones. The 3DS is the most popular handheld gaming system, having greatly outsold the PSVita. It also features true stereo 3D effects that can actually be experienced by the user, and of course it includes the use of touch screen technology, which is one reason the DS rose through the ranks.

As this is a 3ds emulator BETA, support for commercial games is limited. As we develop our emulator more and more, our compatibility list will grow. You can check the current compatibility list here.

3ds emulator beta

Some of the compatible games include:

  • Pokemon X and Pokemon Y
  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf (some items appear graphically glitched)
  • Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS (sometimes crashes randomly)
  • Ocarina of Time 3D (lags one hell of a LOT while riding Epona)
  • Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Very common bugs include mild to moderate lag depending on the hardware of your system. In addition, the 3D effect has not been emulated at this point. The joystick pad can now be emulated through the use of the mouse. In general, less graphically intensive games will run faster. Keep in mind, emulation of even the original DS is at its early stages and has not been perfected.

You can help this project by reporting bugs and testing games not on our list. The more feedback we get, the faster we can release a more fully realized emulator.

Version 0.9.3 Bugfixes list:

  • added skins option (see above)
  • fixed texture error in Animal Crossing
  • joystick pad made more accurate (now more accurately emulates the correct number of axes)
